Omani traditional dress
Omani traditional clothing is very diverse in colours and styles reflecting the authenticity, lifestyles and cultures of the community. Omanis have maintained their traditional dress of both genders and for all age categories. Men wear dishdashas, and head covers called kumma or musarr. They will also wear the khanjar and bisht for official occasions.
Traditional dressing for women differs regionally but consists mainly of three pieces: a hijab, a dishdasha (beaded and embroidered manually in the chest and the sleeves) and long pants (embroidered and beaded at the bottom). These are usually embellished with Omani silver jewellery.
