Date Plam

The date palm has long been part of Omani history and heritage and is a significant source of Oman’s national income. It is a feature of Oman’s natural beauty, often seen on the banks of oases, backdropped by the surrounding mountains, Omani housing, and falajes (or water canals), and has been central to the social and economic intricacies of the daily life of Omanis. Date palms grow strong in the arid climate of the Sultanate of Oman, especially in the valleys and close to water sources.

In Omani culture, it is a symbol for steadiness, strength, generosity and hospitality.
