Luban, or frankincense, is an aromatic natural resin extracted from the bark of frankincense trees, which grow in the mountains and valleys of Dhofar governorate in the south of the Sultanate of Oman. Luban is used as an aromatic incense when burned(. It is also used as traditional medicine. Hojari is the most well-known type of Luban.
