Silver jewellery is one of Oman’s prominent crafts. Omani jewellery is distinctive for their size and the richness of their floral and geometric decorations. There are many types of jewellery such as rings, necklaces, earrings, and foot and cuff bracelets. One of these is the Samat / Mazrat, a necklace with a silver disc centrepiece and geometric and floral decorations connected with other parts of the necklace with a silver or cotton thread. There are also other types of silver necklaces such as the Hurz Alkhatma, Manthoora, Murriyya and Makhnaq.
